Grab a Soli Shirt

Get a Movement Hub Soli Shirt now!

Some of you may already know that we are currently aiming to raise €20,000 for movements. If not, you’re still in time to join the party. From now on, you can not only do some good by donating or mobilizing your friends and (chosen) family to support activists. You can now also buy the exclusive and limited edition Movement Hub Soli T-shirt in the Black Mosquito online shop!

Together with Black Mosquito, we’ve released an awesome T-shirt that looks fantastic on EVERYONE:

Designed by Elisa and Aleino (FLINTA Power!), the shirt screams: Active solidarity is what will get us through this crisis together. Whether it’s strategic exchange, sharing knowledge, solidarity-based advice, or quality time with comrades and allies: together, the pain of the world feels less severe.

The T-shirt is available in the shop and costs €32. €10 of this goes into the Movement Hub grant fund. Activists can apply to us for financial support quickly.

Why you need a shirt

  1. It will look great on you, it feels great on your skin, you can layer it, you can wear it to demonstrations, but you can also wear it when hanging out with your friends. This T-shirt can do it all!
  2. It’s a great gift: whether for birthdays or holidays when you want to give something (but definitely want to save yourself the stress of shopping): you can’t go wrong with the Movement Hub Shirt.
  3. Supporting movement and carrying it too: Why not? Plus, you’ll be supporting the stable work of Black Mosquito at the same time. We only see win-wins here!

And let’s be honest: who doesn’t like wearing a super cute T-shirt with a strong political message? So don’t hesitate, folks, or they’ll be gone soon: order your solidarity shirt now, look fantastic in it, and do some good at the same time!

Love,
Movement Hub

We want to raise 20.000€ for grassroots movements!

We want to raise 20.000€ for grassroots movements!

We are affected by multiple crises and cutbacks, too and are concerned about whether we will be able to continue supporting movements in the future. That is why we are now launching a fundraising campaign to increase our grant fund and continue supporting activists. Our goal: €20,000! Let’s make it happen!

Why is your donation important and why do we need you?

In the past we have been able to support groups quickly, unbureaucratically, and without complications with funding so that they can plan demonstrations, mobilize for their actions, or receive training and skill sharing. However, we can no longer offer this to the same extent when funds are being cut more and more systematically and many of our applications come to nothing. In order for activists and us to continue working independently and autonomously, we need funds from people who care just as much about movements remaining strong and loud.

Yes, I want to support

What we have already achieved

  • In 2022, we supported around 150 groups with a total of €175,300.
  • 2023 waren es etwa 160 Gruppen mit einer Gesamtfördersumme von 193.000€.
  • In 2023, there were around 160 groups with a total funding amount of €193,000.

In order for us to continue being cheerleaders in the background and supporting activists (by giving them money so they can do great and effective things), we need your support and that of your community. You can count on us that 100 percent of the funds will go to democratic, anti-racist, (queer) feminist, and climate-friendly groups, campaigns, and actions.

What you can do:

  1. Donate! Every euro makes a difference. The best part is that you can (partially) circumvent the system, because donations are tax deductible! (We love that). We will gladly issue you a donation receipt. Our recommendation: €20 or as much as you can and want to give. Even better: you can become part of the Movement Hub cosmos and a regular donor! Just click here and get started.
  2. Spread the word about our fundraising campaign: share our cause with friends and (chosen) family, with acquaintances (e.g., your grumpy grandfather) and comrades. As you know, the more, the better.
  3. Encourage your friends and family to sign up for our free newsletter. With your help, we can connect with them and show them what we can achieve with our work.

We are happy about your support!

Planning a Global Week of Action

A Global Week of Action is a week when people across the world take action with a common goal, set of targets, and with shared demands, storytelling and visual identity. This document builds on the learnings from the Insure Our Future Global Week of Action. It is written based on experiences from this context, though there will be lots of relevance for those working in different contexts.

In The Commons Library you can find detailed information on how to plan a Global Week of Action:

Social Strike Game

The Social Strike Game is a group strategy game that’s fun for everyone. It’s an opportunity to use your imagination to figure out the ways an array of different groups and resources in a city/area can co-ordinate to develop social struggle, build community, deal with crises, respond to significant events, and smash capitalism.

Plan C has developed this fantastic, joyful and strategic game so we can all play it in our groups! Thanks Plan C!

Cross-movement meeting for those active in press and public relations work

Cross-movement meeting for those active in press and public relations work 3.- 5. May 2024

Are you part of an activist group and involved in public relations work? Would you like to exchange tools and strategies across movements?
Movement Hub, wort.wechsel and Aktivistinnen Agentur are teaming up to host a workshop weekend, where the following questions will be discussed:

  • What communication strategies do we use to counter the escalation of right-wing politics and discourse?
  • How can we support each other across movements? What are the challenges?
  • How can public relations work in movements be strengthened?
You can find a draft program here

The weekend is aimed at activists from different movement contexts: e.g. anti-fascism, anti-racism, climate, right to the city, health and agriculture. We are happy to welcome people with different levels of experience in the field of public relations.

Unfortunately, only up to 25-30 people can participate. We would like to ensure that a diversity of movement perspectives are represented at the meeting. Therefore, registration is not first come first serve. We will contact you after the registration deadline to let you know if we can confirm your participation. To ensure that as many groups as possible can participate, it would be good if each group registers a maximum of 1-2 delegates.

The Event will take place in Hannover (Tagungshaus Gleisdreieck)

Registration deadline: 01. April 2024

Bei der Programmkonzeption sind wir davon ausgegangen, dass Teilnehmende im Idealfall von Anfang bis Ende dabei sind. Crisis, extractivism and debt

Structural reasons for migrations – Brochures

The key to understanding the nature of the life and work of the migrants in Europe is to analyse the dependency links that have consolidated through decades of plundering of common property, financial speculation and indebtedness intheir territories of origin. Understanding the forced nature of these migrations does not only allow us to analyse the reasoning behind these long, hurried, uncertain and hopeful journeys. It also gives us the tools to understand the forms of work and lifestyles in these newfound homes and the relationships that persist with the families and homes in their country of origin.

Authors: María José Gordillo, Darío Farcy und Mariano Feliz.

These broschures are a cooperation between CEP Lohana Berkins and Movement Hub.

Bird Dogging Skillshare

Bird Dogging Skillshare

The tactic is about confronting decision makers and getting them to publically take a position (or embarrass themselves 😎). This can be aimed at increasing pressure, getting greater media exposure, or going viral on social media. In some cases, power and profit interests can be exposed to a wider audience.
